Kurt Cobain Memorial Park. Aberdeen WA

Hi there! This past weekend on a whim, I decided to go on one last adventure of 2023 and head down to Ocean Shores. On the way down, my partner Don and I decided to make a stop at the Kurt Cobain Memorial Park in Aberdeen WA. Being in my 20s in the 90s in Seattle, the band Nirvana had a huge impact on my life. I travel through Aberdeen rather frequently but had never taken the side trip to the park.

I had heard that the Young Street Bridge was scheduled to be replaced in the near future, so I wanted to visit and document this site before it was gone forever. It has not been well maintained. This was a pretty somber moment for me. Sitting under that bridge soaking in the view of the muddy Wishkah. Seeing a similar sight as he did. I would be lying if I said that I did not shed a tear. The view was dark and grungy. Depressing. It made total sense to me. Here are a few of the photos that I took from the road trip.
